THUNDER BAY — The French-language public school board of Northern Ontario – Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l”Ontario – has appointed the first principal of Thunder Bay’s first French-language public school.

Won’s community involvement in the city includes volunteering for several curling events, serving as an international judge for the World Virtual Robotics Competition, and participating in numerous school committees.
“Thanks to her wealth of experience, her community network and her experience, the CSPGNO is convinced that she will be an outstanding leader for the founding staff members of Ecole public de Thunder Bay,” the board said in a statement.
Won begins her new duties in February.
The school will open its doors in September 2023 in the former Edgewater Park Public School on Victoria Avenue.
