At $2.229 for a litre of unleaded, gasoline prices have never been higher in Thunder Bay. A year ago the Ontario average was $1.28.
THUNDER BAY – There seems to be no end to record gas prices in the Thunder Bay area.
The cost of a litre of regular unleaded fuel jumped another six cents on the weekend, to an all-time high $2.229.
At least six stations have upped their price to that level, though several still remain at $2.169, according to OntarioGasPrices.com.
K&A Variety and Gas Bar on City Road in Fort William First Nation has the lowest price for a litre of regular unleaded, charging $1.85.
The Ontario average is $2.097 a litre, while the Canadian average is $2.065. A year ago in Ontario a litre of regular unleaded was selling for $1.282, nearly three cents lower than the national average.
