金馬執委會今日公布第54屆金馬獎評審團主席將由吳念真導演出任。吳念真個人擁有六座金馬獎，作品橫跨電影、文學、電視、舞台劇、廣播、廣告和音樂。他表示想藉此機會看看新一代電影人呈現的世代風景，至於「主席」這個榮銜，他謙稱自己夠格的只是年紀！
以作家身份跨入影壇，從編劇建立卓越名聲的吳念真，一共入圍過十二次金馬獎最佳編劇，並以《同班同學》（18屆）、《老莫的第二個春天》（21屆）、《父子關係》（23屆）、《客途秋恨》（27屆）、《無言的山丘》（29屆）囊括五座金馬，與上屆終身成就獎得主張永祥並列編劇紀錄保持者。但他作詞的《桂花巷》（24屆）讓他多添一座最佳電影歌曲獎。除了六座正式獎項，他首部執導的電影《多桑》（31屆）也拿下金馬獎觀眾票選獎。他在寫作、主持、編導的成績，曾獲金曲獎、金鐘獎、金鼎獎的肯定，執導的舞台劇亦深受歡迎。他也參與了金馬執委會邀請20位台灣導演合作的電影《10＋10》（2011）。
吳念真參與編劇的《海灘的一天》、客串的《青梅竹馬》、主演的《一一》最近在台灣重新上映。看到自己往日的模樣，吳念真說：「和那些對電影充滿寄望和熱情的人們一起工作的回憶，陸續被召喚回來。讓自己重新相信，從29到47歲那段人生的黃金歲月並沒有白白虛度。」
他強調：「沒有虛度，說的不是自己曾創作出什麼可以跟年輕人說嘴的東西，而是曾經和那麼精彩且執著的人們相遇、相識而且一起作夢、一起工作過。」之所以答應出任金馬獎評審，他說：「看著新的電影創作者一波波湧現，推擠著前浪，而且同樣精彩、同樣執著。想藉這樣的機會看看新一代電影人所呈現的世代風景，無論是希望抑或哀愁。」
至於擔任評審團主席有沒有壓力？吳念真以他一貫的幽默回應：「主席」這個稱謂，我知道，唯一的理由只是年紀。
第54屆金馬獎頒獎典禮將於11月25日在台北國父紀念館舉行，本屆入圍名單及所有評審團成員將於10月1日揭曉。
Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee announced on August 4th that veteran director Wu Nien-Jen will lead the Jury of the 54th Golden Horse Awards. Wu is a renowned artist with multi-talents across cinema, literature, television, stage, radio, advertisement and music. He also expressed great enthusiasm in observing the style and viewpoints of the next-gen filmmakers with this opportunity. With the invitation to be the Chair, Wu modestly joked about himself as being “Senior” enough to hold that title.
Wu firstly joined the film industry as a writer, with twelve nods of Golden Horse Awards for Best Scriptwriting, and won five of them, tying the record in the category with last year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Chang Yung-Hsiang. Wu’s winning titles are: Tong Ban Tong Xue (1981), Old Mao’s Second Spring (1984), The Two of Us (1986), Song of the Exile (1990), and Hill of No Return (1992). He won the sixth award, Best Original Song, for the lyrics he wrote for Osmanthus Alley (1987). In addition to the six official Golden Horse Awards, Wu’s directorial debut A Borrowed Life (1994) also grabbed Audience Choice Award; he was also invited by the Committee to direct in 10+10 (2011), along with other nineteen directors. Wu’s diverse expertise has won him Golden Melody Awards, Golden Bell Awards, and Golden Tripod Awards.
The 54th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony will take place on November 25th, 2017 at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Nominees and all the jury members will be announced on October 1st.
