Gary Lamont had pleaded guilty to forgery and defrauding the public above $5,000 for signing artist Norval Morrisseau’s name to fraudulent works of art. THUNDER BAY – A section of a Thunder Bay Courtroom was filled with seized artwork fraudulently attributed to Indigenous artist Norval Morrisseau by Gary Lamont, seated in the prisoner’s box, who signed the renowned artist’s name to profit from his unique style and Ojibway culture. “In this case, the damage is profound,” said Justice Bonnie Warkentin. “This is more than just an art fraud. It is the appropriation of a cultural and spiritual identity of one of Canada’s most profound artists.”

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Jacques Alexander Menard on December 12, 2023. Jacques was born on July 18, 1946 in Kapuskasing, ON. Jacques had a nickname “Jacques of all trades” because he was very handy. He specialized in carpentry but also worked as a mechanic, plumber and a truck driver. 嬌生面臨5萬多起訴訟
嬌生（Johnson & Johnson）在今年12月5日聲明表示，公司近期就多起含有致癌物的嬰兒爽身粉訴訟達成和解，根據知情人士透露，3家律師事務所已就大約100起訴訟達成和解協議，但沒有提到這些訴訟涉及多少原告和賠償金的詳細資訊。嬌生負責法務的副總裁哈斯（Erik Haas）表示，仍將持續聲請破產，以尋求雙方都能同意的解決方案。嬌生目前面臨多達5萬多起訴訟，其中大多數是患有卵巢癌的女性，以及少數涉及皮瘤患者的案件。大量的消費者控訴該公司旗下的嬰兒爽身粉含有致癌物石棉，嬌生則表示，旗下的滑石粉產品安全，不含石棉成份。

美國空軍11日對15名聯隊成員進行紀律處分，並追查該單位同僚傑克·特謝拉 （Jack Teixeira）洩漏軍事機密的犯行，遭處分者的軍階從上士到上校，有的已被解職，懲處理由是這些人發現特謝拉違法蒐集情資，並在網路聊天室洩密時，未能採取適當行動。

綽號「洗米華」的太陽城集團創辦人周焯華因為巨額詐騙罪、黑社會罪、不法博彩等在澳門判監18年。他在11月中向國家主席習近平發公開信，稱他14年來幾乎每天都會到辦公室上班，「沒有跟客戶有非業務上的往來，不收取客戶任何金錢及禮物，沒有權限動用公司任何資金」。 周焯華稱手機裡有將近十年的通訊紀錄，裡面從來沒有跟人商討過組織過怎樣放碼、收帳，「我也從來不碰錢。」對於集團經營「賭底面」、「電投、網投」等博彩活動指控，他指這些海外貴賓廳業務，有理由懷疑一些澳門貴賓廳在東南亞借經營貴賓廳名義，投資或參與相關不法活動，他希望有一個公平和正常的裁決。

北韓今年10月結束長期以來的武漢肺炎（新型冠狀病毒病，COVID-19）邊境封鎖，中國隨即展開近年來最大規模的脫北者遣返行動，但以女性佔大多數的600多人回到北韓後就失去音訊，南韓首爾人權組織TJWG（Transitional Justice Working Group）認為這些脫北者可能遭受酷刑、性暴力和處決。
