Snowfall warning issued for Thunder Bay

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Thunder Bay area, projecting a possible 15 to 20 centimetres of snow and reduced visibility.

THUNDER BAY – Winter isn’t quite done with Thunder Bay yet, with a fresh snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada on Tuesday coming just days after the area was hit by a previous winter storm.

The weather agency issued the warning of an “early spring snow” that’s expected to begin Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday afternoon.

That will bring possible snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimetres in the area, along with reduced visibility during periods of heavy snow.

The weather comes courtesy of what meteorologist Geoff Coulson described as a developing low pressure system moving in from the Colorada area in a Monday interview.

Snow is expected to push into the region from southwest to northeast Tuesday night, continuing through Wednesday afternoon, when it’s expected to ease and become mixed with light rain or drizzle.
